The Himalayas — Earth's Finest Landscape

The Himalayas are among Earth's most awe-inspiring landscapes — snow-draped peaks, ancient Buddhist monasteries clinging to cliff faces, mountain valleys painted in wildflowers, and high-altitude passes that literally take your breath away. This versatile escape spans some of India's most extraordinary mountain regions: from the colonial charm of Shimla's Mall Road, through the lush Kullu Valley, the Buddhist heartland of Dharamshala, the floating gardens of Dal Lake in Kashmir, to the otherworldly lunar landscapes of Ladakh at 5,000 metres above sea level.

Your Itinerary

Day 1–2
Shimla — The Colonial Hill Station
Arrive in Shimla — the former summer capital of British India. Walk the famous Mall Road with its colonial architecture, visit the neo-Gothic Christ Church, and trek up to Jakhu Temple for panoramic Himalayan views. The UNESCO-listed Kalka–Shimla Toy Train experience is a highlight not to be missed.
Day 3–4
Manali — The Valley Town
Drive through the stunning Kullu Valley (approx 7 hrs from Shimla). Explore the ancient Hadimba Devi Temple nestled in cedar forests, the adventure town of Old Manali, Solang Valley for snow and views, and relax in the natural hot springs at Vashisht village.
Day 5–6
Dharamshala & McLeod Ganj
The home of the Dalai Lama and the Tibetan Government in Exile. Visit the Namgyal Monastery, the Tibet Museum, and the beautiful Bhagsu waterfall. McLeod Ganj's café culture and mountain treks make this one of India's most spiritually alive destinations.
Day 7–9
Kashmir — Heaven on Earth
Fly to Srinagar. Glide across Dal Lake in a traditional shikara boat past floating vegetable gardens and flower vendors. Visit the magnificent Mughal Gardens — Shalimar Bagh and Nishat Bagh. Drive to Pahalgam's meadows, and take the Gulmarg gondola — one of the world's highest cable cars — for jaw-dropping Himalayan panoramas.
Day 10–11
Leh Ladakh — Roof of the World
Fly to Leh (3,500m) and take a day to acclimatise. Then: the Thiksey Monastery (a mini Potala Palace), the sapphire-blue Pangong Lake stretching into Tibet, the Nubra Valley's sand dunes and double-humped Bactrian camels, and Khardung La — one of the world's highest motorable passes at 5,359 metres.
Day 12
Departure from Leh
Morning at leisure in Leh — final walk through the old town bazaar, a visit to Leh Palace, or quiet time at a monastery. Fly out from Leh airport, or begin the epic two-day overland journey back to Manali via the Manali-Leh Highway.
