Day 1
Board at Delhi Safdarjung Station
A welcome reception with champagne, folk music and dance on the platform. Step aboard your private cabin — dressed in handcrafted teak, silk drapes and polished brass fittings. Meet your personal butler. A gourmet welcome dinner is served in the restaurant car as the train rolls south into the Rajasthan night.
Day 2
Jaipur — The Pink City
Morning shore excursion to Amber Fort (jeep up the ramparts), City Palace museum, and the astronomical marvel of Jantar Mantar. Return to the train for a lavish lunch. Afternoon: a drive-past of the iconic Hawa Mahal. Board again as the sun sets over the Pink City.
Day 3
Ranthambore — Bengal Tiger Safari
Early morning jeep safari into Ranthambore National Park — with over 70 tigers, sightings are among the most reliable in India. Leopard, sloth bear, crocodile, and rare birds also frequent these forests. Return to the train. Afternoon excursion to the magnificent 8th-century Chittorgarh Fort.
Day 4
Udaipur — City of Lakes
Explore Udaipur's fairytale cityscape: the City Palace, a boat ride across Lake Pichola past the floating Lake Palace hotel, the ornate Jagdish Temple, and the serene shores of Fateh Sagar. A private sundowner is arranged at a heritage rooftop before re-boarding the train.
Day 5
Jaisalmer — The Golden City
A full day in the Thar Desert's most extraordinary city. Explore the golden Sonar Quila (still a living fort), the merchant mansions of Patwon ki Haveli, and the narrow medieval streets. At dusk, transfer to the Sam Sand Dunes — camel silhouettes against the sunset, followed by an exclusive dinner on the dunes under an ocean of stars. Return to the train as it gleams in the moonlight.
Day 6
Jodhpur — The Blue City
Visit the colossal Mehrangarh Fort — one of India's most dramatic, rising 122 metres above the blue-washed city. Explore the poignant Jaswant Thada memorial in white marble. A traditional Rajasthani thali lunch is served at a heritage property. Afternoon at leisure in the train's observation lounge or spa as you roll onward.
Day 7
Agra — The Taj Mahal
The journey's crown jewel. Rise before dawn for a private sunrise visit to the Taj Mahal — watched from a carpet of morning mist, its white marble shifting from rose to gold to brilliant white as the sun rises. A guided tour of the mausoleum and gardens follows. Visit the magnificent Agra Fort in the afternoon before the train departs for Delhi.
Day 8
Return to Delhi — Farewell
Morning arrival at Delhi Safdarjung Station. A farewell champagne brunch is served on board — one final toast in your private rolling palace. Then the world resumes. Private transfers to your hotel or international airport are included.
